Our Work

We listen to donors, and help them find the most effective ways to give. We support charities and other organizations across BC through a range of grants. We also address priority issues through our initiatives, such as youth engagement, knowledge & learning, partnerships, and connections and community engagements – all of which serve to strengthen the basic fabric of our communities.

How We Work

Vancouver Foundation is Community Inspired. We have been invested in BC since 1943. Our mission is to build healthy, vibrant, and livable communities across British Columbia.

Connect & Engage

Five years ago, our Connections and Engagement report described Metro Vancouver as a hard place to make friends, our neighbourhood connections as cordial, but weak, and a declining level of participation in community life.

In 2017, we wanted to dig deeper. Our new report revisits some old themes to see if anything has changed, but it also explores new lines of enquiry to expand our understanding.

Open Licensing Initiative

Vancouver Foundation's Open Licensing Policy is designed to promote intentional sharing of socially innovative ideas, resources, and knowledge across the charitable sector. Our goal is to explore how this approach will encourage more collaboration, innovation, replication, and broader exposure of the good ideas we encounter every day.
